  • Dr. Rehena Nasrin
Dr. Rehena Nasrin has obtained her B.Sc. (Hons.) in Mathematics in 1998 (examination held in 2000), M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics in 1999 (examination held in 2001) and M.Sc. thesis in 2002 from University of Dhaka (DU). She has achieved her M.Phil. in 2010 and Ph.D. in 2015 in Mathematics from BUET, Bangladesh. Dr. Nasrin started her career as a Lecturer in Ahsanullah University of Science & Technology in 2004. She was appointed as a Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics in 2006 in BUET. She was selected for Assistant Professor in 2010, Associate Professor in 2016 and Professor in 2018.
Prof. Nasrin is a computational fluid dynamicist who works on fluid flows, magnetohydrodynamics flows, heat-mass transfer, mathematical modeling of chemical reactor and heat exchanger. She is an applied mathematician who researches on numerical analysis, transport in porous medium, numerical modeling in single/hybrid nanofluid flows and hemodynamic blood flows. For conducting simulation, She uses Finite Difference Method (FDM), Finite Element Method (FEM) with the help of simulation package LAHEY Fortran and COMSOL Multyphysics. Currently, Dr. Nasrin focuses on solar collector, solar PV, PVT, PVT/PCM system, electrical power, thermal energy storage, energy efficiency, efficiency improvement.
